The journey began in 2007
We started as a small crew painting and cleaning student apartments between move-outs and move-ins here in Tallahassee. We had our fair share of ups and downs, successes and failures, and learned every obstacle you can think of on the job.
We persevered. As the needs of our customers grew, we grew with them. Today we provide a full range of residential and commercial painting, repairs and renovations — from a single bedroom to whole-home remodels and restaurant build-outs.
One thing we’ve realized over time is that relationships matter. Being dependable and reliable matters. Delivering a high-quality result for your hard-earned money matters. We care about the results, and we want you to be happy.

What Tallahassee says about TLC
“Michael (Smiley), owner of TLC Painting, has worked on our house over the past five years. He has painted all the living areas of our house. Recently, he painted the outside and power washed our concrete paths and driveway. Michael and his crew are highly skilled, conscientious, careful and trustworthy. They move all furniture in advance and put it back. Michael oversees a total clean up after painting. His rates are reasonable and fair.”
“We had our whole house exterior painted by TLC and could not have had a better experience! Everything was done with the highest level of attention and care. Smiley is an expert painter. There isn’t a single spot on the house that isn’t perfectly done!”
“We had a great experience with Smiley and Duke in painting our laundry/utility room and the entire exterior of our 1930’s home. They took on all of the challenges that come with a 90 year old house, including multiple wood rot repairs, power washing everything including stone walkways and awnings, framing out the thin wooden windows, conditioning old paint, replacing broken shutters, and so much more.”
“TLC completed an exterior paint job at my house. Smiley was the consummate professional. He was diligent (working 8+ hours a day), he was meticulous, and he was committed to high standards for his product. His attention to detail far surpassed my expectations.”
“TLC stained my entire back deck after the deck planks had been replaced. Smiley did an outstanding job. The deck looks great. He is a conscientious, thorough quality-worker. Of those who have worked on my house in the forty plus years I have had it, he is one of the best.”
“Smiley is meticulous and his attention to detail results in high quality work which is always fairly priced. He has done several projects for us (replaced wood siding, pressure washed and painted house and porches, built and repaired 8ft wood fence and gate) and has done siding and window replacement for family members, and projects for my neighbors as well.”
“We had our bathrooms remodeled with our flooring replaced with modern vinyl planks, new tubs put in, a new vanity with new sink and faucets, and the walls painted with a modern white. Great quality work!”
“The most professional and thorough company I have dealt with for all aspects of repair and renovation in Tallahassee. Thank you TLC.”
“Hands down the best paint work I’ve ever had done! Their attention to detail is second to none. Would recommend them to anyone!”
“We could not recommend TLC painting more. Smiley was meticulous and took so much pride in his work. He went above and beyond at every opportunity.”
“A friend recommended TLC Painting and Renovations and they did an outstanding job. They covered all the details and more! I’m thoroughly satisfied and would definitely recommend them for future projects!”
“My wife and I are very happy with the quality of work Smiley did for us: painting the chimney, putting up the privacy fence, and installing the gutter drainpipe. He doesn’t cut corners even on small tasks.”
“TLC Painting & Renovations provides an excellent product, they are thorough, fast, versatile, easy to work with, and meet deadlines… I will use them again.”
“I use this company as much as possible, they do so much and in a timely manner.”
